April L. Thornton

April went home to the Lord on July 23, 2012 at U of M Hospital, Ann Arbor, Michigan. Age 49 years. April was born April 7, 1963 in Owosso to Floyd and Linda (Rohde) Schmitter. She married Glenn Thornton on April 7, 1990. April was a member of St. Charles United Methodist Church and Pulmonary Hypertension Association. She enjoyed scrapbooking and spending time with family.

April is survived by her husband, Glenn and their children, Carlene (Daniel) Abbey, Kelsey Thornton, and Nolan Thornton; her father Floyd (Virginia) Schmitter and brother, Nathan (Christina) Schmitter and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother, Linda Schmitter and son, Jarod Thornton.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 27, 2012 at the St. Charles United Methodist Church, 301 W. Belle Ave., St. Charles. Rev. Ernesto Mariona will officiate with burial in Riverside Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the Kendall Funeral Home from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday and from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the church on Friday. Memorials may be made to the Pulmonary Hypertension Association.
